We are excited that Ms. Kristena Manuel has joined Veterinary Medicine today as the new Executive Coordinator. Ms. Manuel’s strong background in veterinary medicine and research, combined with her education and experience, will be invaluable to this role.
Kristi has worked in the veterinary medicine field for over 16 years as a veterinary technician and customer service representative at two local veterinary hospitals where she has connected professionally with the doctors, staff, clients, and their pets. She also has experience working in shelter medicine as a veterinary technician and in the community as an Animal Control Officer.
After completing her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Frostburg State University, Kristi earned her Master of Animal Science degree from North Carolina State University. Following her advanced education, she began working as a Veterinary Research Specialist in the Radiation Oncology Department at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. Ms. Manuel transferred to the University of Maryland, College Park as a Faculty Specialist in the Animal and Avian Science Department. Kristi is passionate about One Health.
In her free time, Kristi enjoys spending time with her cat, Jerry Lee, gardening, reading, and cooking.
