Kazakhstan Scholars' Internship at Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine

July 31, 2024

Three scholars from Zhangir Khan West Kazakhstan Agrarian Technical University, particularly Dr Dushayeva, Dr Montayeva, and Dr Zhumayeva, recently completed a three-month internship at the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine, specifically in Dr. Mostafa Ghanem's lab, as part of the Kazakhstan 500 scholarship by the Center of International Program BOLASHAK (government program).

This internship provided an invaluable opportunity for cultural and scientific exchange, serving as a bridge between the scientists of Kazakhstan and the United States. The collaboration highlighted the saying, "Science does not have borders," demonstrating the power of international cooperation in advancing scientific knowledge and understanding.

While in Dr. Ghanem's lab, the scholars engaged in cutting-edge research and gained exposure to advanced methodologies and technologies. Importantly, this exchange focused on strengthening animal health-related knowledge exchange by breaking the barriers between scientists of the two countries. The collaborative efforts aim to improve veterinary practices and ensure higher animal health and food safety standards.

We extend our best wishes to the Kazakhstan scholars as they continue on their scientific paths, striving for the highest achievements. This internship is a testament to their dedication and hard work and a promising step toward future collaborations between Kazakhstan and the University of Maryland in the scientific community.
